What if I am going to run out of my medication before my next appointment with Dr Tesfai?

In most cases, if needed, your GP can provide you with another prescription prior to you next review with Dr Tesfai. Your GP receives a letter from Dr Tesfai after each appointment, which includes any medications and dosages he has previously prescribed you.

Why do I need to provide another referral if I've already seen the doctor in the past?

To receive a Medicare rebate for your appointment, you will need a valid referral from your GP or specialist. A GP referral will last for 12-months and a referral from another specialist will last for 3-months. When we book your review appointment, we will let you know if a referral is required and whether the one we have on file will still be valid. An SMS reminder will also be sent to you a few days before your appointment, which will include a note if a referral is needed.

While we are happy to guide you, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure a valid referral is in place if you wish to claim the Medicare rebate. If you are ever unsure, please contact us and we will be happy to help. You are still very welcome to attend your appointment without a referral, but please be aware that in this case you would not receive a Medicare rebate.

How will my follow-up appointment with Dr Tesfai be arranged?

After you have been seen by Dr Tesfai, your follow-up appointment will be arranged by our practice based on his clinical recommendations. An SMS will be sent to you which will include your appointment date, time, and any relevant information.
If the proposed time does not suit you, please contact our reception team as soon as possible so we can assist with rescheduling. If you do not receive an SMS and were expecting a follow-up, please get in touch with us to ensure your contact details are up to date.
